Rev. Evelyn D. Weber
Pastor Weber is the Founder and Senior Pastor of The Church on Higher Ground in Danbury, CT. Since early on in her ministry, she has seen the hand of providence as God, in such a short time, did more for her supernaturally than she could have ever asked or even hoped for. If asked by others wanting to start in ministry, she declares “This has been a wonderful journey for me.” Since the opening of the doors of the church four years ago, she found that God was so very faithful to do even the impossible for her.
Pastor Weber has a profound annointing and it is evident as she declares the word in truth and displays the love of God. The Church on Higher Ground is a place where the love of God is practiced, not just preached. “A place where religion dies and relationship begins”. As Pastor Weber says, “Sometimes the truth hurts, but love gets us past the hurt and through to the victorious healing. Then we see lives change.” When asked what her gifts are, Pastor Weber replied, “My gift is love and out of that flows all that God’s people need.”
Pastor Weber spent time over seas, using her time there to be taught and raised up in spiritual warfare. She has had the privilege of sitting and gleaning from such ministers as Fuschia Pickett and Judson Cornwall.
“We are here to take the region for the glory of God, and that’s going to take getting war ugly, and joining other churches to cast in our nets. This catch is too big for just one church, one boat,” she says. Her teachings from the Holy Spirit are an invaluable tool as she imparts the love of God to the body of Christ.
We are a house of love here, the people really care and it is evident in their faces that their needs are getting met. When asked how does she do it, she says, “I don’t do it. I take my lessons from the Lord, I see the needs of the people and try to help meet that need. I take them to the Word and there they find all the answers to life’s questions.” This is true evangelism, “loving God’s people, and loving the King of Kings.”
Pastor Weber’s vision is Apostolic and she is witnessing the faithfulness of God and the Word of the Lord. While overseas, she had such opportunity to be a witness for the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ in Oman, Israel, Egypt, Turkey and Bahrain. She is in Covenant Fellowship with a ministry in India .
Pastor Weber’s husband, William, who is a retired Major in the United States Army, has been her greatest teacher. “He has taught me to war and has joined with me in the Battle Cry for the Kingdom.”
Recently Pastor and her husband William who is the church administrator suffered the loss of their youngest son . But they believe this loss was to prepare them to minister to many in the last days ,the heart of the father to his church. In December of 2011 Pastor Weber published a book titled ” A Place Called There” she said i will not write another self help book nor will i write about death. Instead she wrote about the life that has been so evident in her that was to be the catalyst to the ministry of hope and reconciliation. She was soon to learn that the Dark night of her soul would prepare her for what lies ahead.
