Our Pastors
And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
— Ephesians 4:11
The pastors at the Church on Higher Ground have dedicated themselves to the service of the Lord. They embody the spirit of Luke 22:26, which says “But ye shall not be so: but he that is greatest among you, let him be as the younger; and he that is chief, as he that doth serve.”
Our pastors lead by example. Their heartfelt desire is to have a personal relationship with God, and to share the fruits of their relationships with the congregation. In turn, each of us strives to develop our own relationship with the Lord, and we in turn wish to share the fruits of our Godly relationships with others.
Before He left the Apostles and ascended into Heaven, Christ bestowed upon all believers a Great Commission. You can find this in Mark 16:15, “And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” Our pastors take the Great Commission seriously. The Church has established an Evangelism and Outreach Program where church members go out to the streets once or twice a week and spread the Word in the Danbury area.
At our church, the Holy Spirit governs the services and personal feelings take a back seat. Our goal is to please the Lord and praise Him with great praise.
