The Benefit of Fellowship – The bible tells us that it is good to dwell together in unity. (Psalms 133:1-2).
To dwell together means to become like family, to look after one another, to be a tool that God can use to be a blessing to one another. The same benefits that the early church enjoyed in fellowship and unity are the same benefits the church today will experience when the spirit of unity and fellowship are experienced in the church. You can read and study about this more by reading (Acts 2:36-17).
Fulfilling the Great Commission – This is done by you – the individual – doing your part within the local body.
In Ephesians 4:11-13 we read: 4:11 “And He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; 4:12 For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ; 4:13 Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.”
(Mark 16:15) also says, “And He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.”
We are commanded by God to fulfill the Great Commission. This can only be done in order, by being a member of the local body of Christ, and submitting to Godly authority who has been equipped to train you up to do so.
